Oh, how the world has turned dark and bleak,
With women constantly nervous and afraid,
They get shot or stabbed if they dare speak,
Men stealing their rights by overturning roe v wade,
A girl stabbed to death for simply saying no,
Another shot and killed on her way to a test,
One was stalked, murdered then labelled a hoe,
And all of that rarely warrants a man’s arrest,
All they have to do is call it an “honour killing”
And suddenly it’s a completely valid excuse,
They manipulate and harm like it’s thrilling,
And women are expected to take the abuse,
How many girls have lost their precious lives?
Because they didn’t appease a strange man,
Murdered by guns, fists, machetes & knives,
Men are the atomic bombs, women are Japan,
Just when we think it will get a little better,
We lose another life for wanting a basic right,
They tell us we’re safe if we stay together,
But it honestly feels like a never-ending fight.
These men will never know what it’s like,
To be constantly on edge, never resting,
To expect our words to be met with a strike,
And very little changes upon our protesting.
