Put back together

Falling in love with you left my heart battered,
I had lived in that fairytale fantasy until it shattered,
I was torn and as broken as your promise of forever,
Joke’s on me for thinking we’d always be together,

A kaleidoscope of bruises covering my skin,
Challenged me to a game knowing I can’t win,
Stood tall as I fell again and again on stones,
This was a game of twister but with my bones,

Trying to find a part of me that wasn’t scarred,
You wanted to be a lawyer, I hope you get disbarred,
I was a damn wreck and you were the wrecking ball,
But you played with fire, and that was your downfall,

Did you really think I wouldn’t get back on my feet?
Did you honestly think I was that easy to defeat?
I will rise like a damn Phoenix every single time,
You and filth are two words that seem to rhyme,

You fight with your hands but writing is my dagger,
Bruises will fade but my words will make you stagger,
Forever on the internet, proof of your transgression,
So good luck attempting to make a good impression,

I bet you rue the day you carelessly hurt a writer,
Now you’re covered in gasoline and I hold the lighter,
You apologise knowing you have no power whatsoever,
You were not clever, but I am now stronger than ever.
