Don't blame me

Don’t blame me for being this cynical,
But a picture-perfect world is simply mythical,
The topic of women’s bodies has turned political,
And men’s unashamed behaviour has me sceptical,

Tell me why men are abusing their power over us?
If we speak out about injustice they make a fuss,
Their outright audacity makes me wanna cuss,
If outrageous sexism was a class, they’d get an A+

Don’t blame me for giving men the cold shoulder,
Their ego and ignorance are as big as a boulder,
Stalking women to scare them, young ones & older,
Their behaviour makes our resentment smoulder,

Women deserve to have their voices heard,
They’ve been fighting for so long undeterred,
How long will their rights keep getting deferred?
This notion of “women are inferior” is absurd,

Don’t blame me for being constantly mad,
Because the reality we live in makes me sad,
Men think the feminist movement is just a fad,
But we fight every entitled man and every cad,

It’s not insane to demand respect and a leading role,
It’s only natural for us to want to take back control,
Not only of our lives but every hope, dream, and goal,
To take back ownership of the narrative they stole,

Don’t blame me for not falling for any of the lies,
“We’re protecting you” and “your body is a prize”
The image of an open lollipop surrounded by flies,
Is a bunch of nonsense created by pharisaic guys,

Women have accomplished more throughout history,
Truth of the matter is men are just good at sophistry,
Their constant strive to oppress women is no mystery,
They know women can easily transcend them
...So they call it witchery.
